Right To Information

 

To secure access to information under the control of public authorities in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority, the constitution of Central Information Commission and State Information Commission and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

 

A person who desires to obtain any information under RIGHT TO INFORMATION act, shall make a request in writing or through Electronic means in English or in Tamil accompanying such fee as may be prescribed to Central Public Information Officer or State Public Information Officer.   An application making request for information shall not be required to give any reason for requesting the information.  On receipt of a request shall be disposed within 30 days of the receipt of the request either providing information or reject the request.

 

Any person who does not receive a decision within the time specified or is aggrieved by a decision of the officer, may appeal within 30 days from the expiry of such period or from the receipt of such decision.

 

Under the powers vested under this Act, the following commission is formed in Various Departments in Tiruvannamalai District to provide information to public under this act.
